Bio
My roots bridge the island of Puerto Rico and peninsula of Cape Cod. I was raised in a ceramics studio + how-to environment of poets, painters, potters, barn builders, barterers + experimenters in many realms.
Founding member of the Artist Cooperative at 300 Summer Street, a self-governing, artist-owned, live-work, limited-equity cooperative in the historic neighborhood of Fort Point, Boston.
Recognitions include a Swedish Institute Fellowship, NEFA Award, NEFA-Benton Award, Vermont Studio Center Residency, Trustman Travelling Fellowship, Radcliffe Education Grant, and the Harvard McCord Prize in the Creative Arts.
Critics have called her work "knockout, confident painting" exhibiting "a marvelous synthesis of visual energy", with imagery that "rises and falls out of mists of paint that disrupt our expectation of space and read like dreams", and works that "tease, drawing you into detail that resonates, then pushing you away with their unsettling context".
